I am Vixc B and I came
out of the closet in the great City of Philadelphia July 7th 2007. I
was in search of trying to figure out what being gay meant outside of sex and
how to maintain being the person I wanted to be while having fun and experiencing
all the new things the Gayborhood had to offer. Soon I was single and in search
of trying to make sense of how my life suddenly changed. I had my best friend
from high school Jazz who was constant support and then there was Jaiye, Phil,
Tia, AreJay, Adam, and Zach.
While trying to navigate a love life I learned the value of
friends and the lack of value that others put on friendship and soon my friends
were replaced by others. I went from a long list of friends to a short list of
close friends, Louise, Icon, Ivan and Al.
While my love life changed and lessons of the heart were
learned I decided to share the happenings in life on my blog which allowed me
to see my growth, vent and provide a learning tool for myself and others.
From ex-Boyfriends and my ex-Fiancé, Mister M to Doctor MeTo
to all my friends from Jazz to Icon, the lessons are abounding from, Dating
Rules, life management and even how to deal with friends.
I chose the color indigo because it is the only rainbow
color that is not on the gay flag and my focus in life is not to be a stereotypical
gay. I want to have all the modern gay things in life, fall in love, get
married, and have a family. The things that for many years people did not think
gays would ever be able to have and for many people the things they thought
gays did not care about. When I came out I remember fearing that I was now a
part of a life style that focused on Sex, Drugs, Alcohol, and parting hard.
I have seen a lot in my years and I now know that anything
in life is whatever you make it to be and all my friends, past or present, will
tell you the best thing I am known for is customization. I take what I want and
I make it my own.
So now I am single again in
Philly, going to school to be a chef and more focused on achieving my personal
goals than ever. And with friends like Icon, Al, Dom, Aura, Kiki and Niki and
an open and optimistic heart I have all that I need for success.
